Marine Mining Corp. holds a reconnaissance licence on a concession which covers over 10 000 square kilometres, a huge area over two hundred and forty kilometres long and over forty wide. The concession lies from the shoreline out to depth off the coast of Ghana, which is one of the principal gold-producing areas in the world.
Ghana is famous for its rich "gold belts", which are approximately parallel gold-bearing bands of rock hundreds of kilometres long and tens of kilometres wide, trending from the coast for a long distance to the north east.
